St. Joseph University in Tanzania (SJUIT) held a Staff Luncheon on May 8, 2026, at the Mbezi Campus, bringing together Members of the Council, management, staff, and student representatives in an atmosphere of fellowship, unity, and collegial engagement. The event featured speeches by the Guest of Honour, Hon. Gertrude Mongella; the President of the Council, Dr. T.X.A. Ananth; the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Eliab Z. Opiyo; and Dr. Primus Nkwera, Consultant and former Executive Secretary of NACTVET. During his remarks, Dr. Ananth highlighted the genesis of SJUIT as part of the international mission and educational vision of DMI. The programme also included recognition of service, cake cutting, a photo session, and networking among participants.
Speaking during the event, the leaders underscored the importance of such gatherings in strengthening relationships, promoting interaction, and fostering a shared sense of purpose within the University community. The leadership also announced plans to introduce lunch and transport support for staff in the near future. In addition, Dr. Primus Nkwera informed participants that he had been assigned by the University owner to collect staff views and aspirations on how SJUIT should grow and develop moving forward. The luncheon reflected SJUITβs continued commitment to collaboration, professionalism, mutual respect, staff welfare, and institutional excellence.
