MOD-01
Introduction to CCTV Systems
  • Overview of security systems and their importance
  • Analog vs. IP cameras, HD-over-Coax, wireless
  • Essential components: cameras, DVR/NVR, monitors, cabling, power supplies
MOD-02
CCTV Components and Camera Types
  • Camera specs: resolution, focal length, IR/night vision, PTZ, dome, bullet
  • Lenses, housings, and mounting brackets
  • Storage solutions: HDDs, cloud storage, RAID configurations
  • Power options: PoE, transformers, solar
MOD-03
Planning and Designing a CCTV System
  • Site assessment: blind spots, lighting conditions, vulnerabilities
  • Camera placement and field-of-view considerations
  • System blueprints (CAD or hand-drawn layouts)
  • Calculating storage requirements and bandwidth needs
  • Budgeting and client requirements analysis
MOD-04
Installation Techniques, Configuration & Networking
  • Cabling: coaxial, Ethernet (Cat5e/Cat6), fiber optics
  • Mounting cameras — indoor, outdoor, vandal-proof
  • Wiring DVRs/NVRs, monitors, and power supplies
  • Safety protocols: ladder safety, grounding, weatherproofing
  • DVR/NVR setup, motion detection, user permissions
  • IP addressing, subnetting, remote & mobile access
  • Cybersecurity basics: passwords, firmware, VPNs
